Describing the software you want to an AI tool in plain language and letting it write the code, often without reading or fully understanding what it produced. It is a fast way to get to something that works on screen.
A real example
An owner spends a weekend describing a CRM to an AI tool and ends up with something that stores contacts, books calls and sends reminders. No developer was involved, and no code was read.
Why it matters
Building software and running software are different jobs, and vibe coding only makes the first one easier. A prototype becomes a business system once someone has tested it for security, checked that one customer cannot see another's data, proved the backups restore and agreed who fixes it when it breaks. Until then it is a demo, whatever it can do on screen.
