Thinking Partner

In short
Using AI to improve your thinking rather than to hand you a finished answer.
In plain English
Treating AI as something to think with instead of something to get answers from. A thinking partner asks what you have not considered, argues the other side, and tells you which parts of its own answer it is unsure about.
The practical difference is in what you ask for. "Write me a plan" gets a plan. "Interview me until you understand the situation, then tell me what I am missing" gets you thinking, and a better plan afterwards.
A real example
Instead of "write a marketing plan for my gym", you ask the AI to interview you first. It asks who your members are, why people cancel, and what you have already tried. Three of those questions you cannot answer, which is the useful part. You now know what to go and find out.
Why it matters
AI is extremely good at producing something that reads like a decision. That is exactly what makes it risky to use as an oracle: the output is fluent whether or not it understood your situation.
Used as a thinking partner, the same tool is hard to beat, because it never gets bored of being asked "what else?" and it has no ego in your plan being wrong.
