Persona
1 min read · Reviewed 17 Oct 2026
In short
A described archetype of the person you are writing for.
In plain English
A short, specific description of a typical customer — their situation, what they already believe, what they are worried about, what would convince them.
A real example
"A practice owner with eight staff, no marketing person, who has been burned by an agency before and distrusts jargon" produces far better copy than "small business owners".
Why it matters
Specificity is what stops AI output sounding generic. A model given a category writes about the category; given a person, it writes to them.
