Clean Chat
1 min read · Reviewed 17 Oct 2026
In short
An AI conversation with no saved memory or earlier chats feeding into it, so you see the answer a stranger would get.
In plain English
Most AI tools remember things about you: earlier chats, saved preferences, files you uploaded. That is useful when you are working, and misleading when you are testing. A clean chat switches it off, using a temporary chat, turning memory off, or signing out, whichever your tool offers.
A real example
You ask your usual AI tool, "What can you tell me about Fairlight Bookkeeping?" It answers confidently, because last week you pasted your services list into it. A buyer asking the same question in their own account gets a vaguer answer with an old description. Only the clean chat shows you the second one.
Why it matters
If you want to know what AI tells your buyers, the test has to look like their search. Two more rules go with it: do not tell the AI the business is yours, and do not paste your web address. Either one changes the answer you get.
