Think First, Then Ask AI Habit Builder
Bring what only you know, before AI fills in the blanks
Most of the time AI wastes is spent fixing an answer to a question that had nobody in it. This short habit builder fixes the input rather than the output. You learn to tell the two kinds of task apart, work out what has to come from you before you ask, and write the request you should have sent instead of the one you were about to. Three worked examples, a worksheet to run on your own tasks, and a trigger you will recognise next time.
What you'll be able to do
- Tell a task where you know the answer from one where you are still working it out
- Recognise the tasks that need your thinking before they need a prompt
- Separate what you already know from what you actually believe about a task
- Write a request that carries your facts, your take and what matters to you
- Notice what changed between the request you were about to send and the one you sent
- Name your own trigger for when to stop and think first
