How to Audit Your Offer With AI

Before you spend more on marketing, check whether the offer itself is the problem. A structured way to pressure-test what you sell.

Abstract cover of soft flowing wave lines in mint and green tones with a gentle glow of light on the right.

When sales are slow the instinct is to buy more traffic. Sometimes that is right. Often it is expensive, because the offer was the problem and you have just paid to show it to more people.

An audit is cheaper, and AI makes it fast enough that there is no excuse for skipping it.

The four questions an offer must answer

Any offer that works answers these clearly enough that a stranger could repeat them:

  1. Who is this for? Specifically. "Small businesses" is not an answer.
  2. What changes? The concrete outcome, not the deliverables.
  3. Why you? What makes it credible coming from you.
  4. Why now? What makes acting today better than in six months.

Write your answers down before you go anywhere near a model. Doing it the other way round means you will accept whatever it produces.

Have AI play a sceptical buyer

Paste your offer and ask it to respond as the buyer you are targeting — not as a coach, and not helpfully.

Ask it for:

  • What is unclear on a first read
  • What sounds like every competitor
  • What a cautious person would worry about
  • What is promised but not evidenced
  • The single question it would want answered before paying

That last one is usually the most useful sentence you will get all week.

Look for the risk you are asking them to carry

Most stalled offers have too much buyer-side risk. They must pay up front, commit for a long period, or trust an outcome they cannot verify.

Ask AI where the risk sits and how it could be reduced without you absorbing it all: a smaller first step, a clearer scope, a specific guarantee, a visible example of the work.

Check the boundaries

Ask what is explicitly not included. If you cannot answer, scope will creep and the offer will become unprofitable regardless of how well it sells.

An offer that names its exclusions reads as more confident, not less.

Then test it on a person

AI cannot tell you whether the market wants this. It has no data about your buyers, only patterns from text.

Take the tightened version to three people who resemble your buyer. Ask them to tell you, in their own words, who it is for and what changes. If they cannot, the problem is still the offer — and no amount of traffic fixes that.

Do it before the next campaign

An hour on this before you spend on ads is the highest-return hour available. The audit is free; the traffic is not.

Common questions

How do I know if my offer is the problem?
If people understand the offer and still do not buy, it is usually an offer problem rather than a traffic problem. Test whether a stranger can say who it is for and what changes for them after reading your page once.
Can AI review my sales page?
It can play a sceptical buyer usefully — naming what is unclear, what sounds like every competitor, and what a cautious person would worry about. It cannot tell you whether the market wants it; only customers can.
